5th Annual Regent Park Film Festival Nov 7 - 11 '07 Brick By Brick: Communities In Motion Film Festival Schedule
Created in 2003, Regent Park Film Festival (RPFF) is the sole community film festival in Canada's largest and oldest inner city neighbourhood; an area populated predominantly by new immigrants.
RPFF is a non-profit cultural, educational media arts organization dedicated to disseminate films relevant to the communities living in Regent Park with an emphasis on thought provoking films from our regions of origin (Africa, South Asia, East Asia and the Caribbean) as well as from across Canada and the rest of the world. We organize an annual festival along with year-round school and community screenings, panels of discussions, exhibitions and professional training. The independent films we showcase of all genres, celebrate differences and solidarity, immigrant experiences, inner city issues, cultural identity and multicultural relationships. Films made in Regent Park, through Regent Park Focus Youth Media Arts Center, are the center piece of the festival, supporting self-representation and allowing for Regent Park's community's voice to be heard by a broader audience.
